Funeral services for Ernest Lloyd, 84, retired Johnson county farmer, were held at the West Branch United Methodist Church Jan. 14, with the Rev. Samuel J. Hahn officiating. Burial was in the west Branch cemetery. The Barker Funeral home was in charge.

Mr. Lloyd died at the Crestview Care center, West Branch, Jan. 11.

The son of James and Alzina Snow Lloyd, he was born on a farm west of West Branch in Johnson county April 5, 1898. He was married to Mabel Daniels at St. Louis, MO June 28, 1924. He farmed near West Branch and was a member of the West Branch United Methodist church.

He is survived by his wife, 3 sons, James and David, both of West Branch and Dan, Salem, VA; a sister, Mrs. Beatrice Mystik, Detroit, MI; a half sister, Mrs. Nellie Scannell, Iowa City; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
