Mrs. David Henry (1846 - 1907)
Virginia Hartsock, daughter of Stephen and Ellen Hartsock, was born in Johnson County, Iowa, May 24, 1846, and grew to womanhood in Iowa City and vicinity. Her parents were well known pioneers of the county.

On February 17, 1880, Miss Hartsock was married to David Henry of Trinidad, Colorado, and in that far away home, Mrs. Henry devoted her life to the care and education of her children and in the promotion of the welfare and happiness of those about her. The uncle of Mrs. Henry, James R. Hartsock, came to Iowa in 1838 and to Iowa City in 1842. Her grandparents were early settlers in Green county, Ill., and her parents resided there until 1845 when they came to Johnson County. The many members of the Hartsock family were widely known and much respected by the old settlers and Mrs. Henry having grown to woman hood here, had so lived that she was beloved by all who knew her, and her death was mourned as the loss of one who had been a valued member of society. After a lingering illness Mrs. Henry departed this life on September 2, 1907, at Trinidad, Colorado, aged sixty-one years, nine months, and two days.
