Kristin “Kris” Osterkamp, the much-loved daughter of Elmer and Lucile Osterkamp, passed away on September 9, 2023. Kris passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics after a short illness with her family by her side.

Born, raised and lived her life on the same farm near Amber, Iowa, Kris graduated from Anamosa High School in 1969 and attended Central College in Pella. She lived many places: Germany, New Jersey, Louisiana, California, and Chicago.

Kris had a deep passion for sports, particularly for the 49ers, Hawkeyes, and Bulls. Her dedication to her favorite teams brought her many memorable moments and shared experiences with friends and family. Her love for sports will surely be remembered by those who knew her well.

Kris loved working outside, planting flowers, mowing the lawn or just sunbathing on a nice day. Her yard was always well maintained and thriving. She loved to garden and collect all the great items a home garden provided.

Kris's affection for pets is a testament to her kind and nurturing nature. Having a furry companion can always bring joy and comfort, it is evident that Kris cherished the companionship, loyalty and unconditional love that pets offer. This love for animals is a beautiful reflection of Kris's caring and compassionate spirit.

She was predeceased by her parents, Elmer and Lucile Osterkamp, brother Colin Osterkamp and Sister-in-Law Jann. Kris is survived by her brother Kevin Osterkamp Powell, OH, her nephew and confidant Nick Frasher Amber, IA, and her loving nieces Heidi Krum (Bobby) Amber, IA, and Casey Underwood (Beau) Indianapolis, IN.

A celebration of Kristin’s life is being planned to be on Sunday, October 15, 2023, in Anamosa, IA. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Anamosa. Please check back for the precise time and location. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family or Animal Welfare Fund of Monticello.
