Funeral services for Mrs. George Hora, 66, Iowa City, were held at First United Methodist church, Iowa City, March 9 with burial in Memory Gardens. Mrs. Hora died at an Iowa City hospital March 6, following a short illness.
The daughter of Henry and Rosella Wilder Phillips, she was born at Princeton, Ind. Aug. 24, 1912. She moved to Johnson county as a child.
She was married to George Hora in Iowa City Dec. 25, 1925. The couple farmed in Johnson county until retirement.
Mrs. Hora was a member of the First United church.
Survivors include her husband; 3 sons, Donald, West Branch, George, Oxford and Robert, Tipton; 5 daughters, Mrs. James (Donna) Vitosh, Iowa City, Mrs. Robert (Rosella) Skriver, West Liberty, Mrs. Edward (Connie) Railsback, Iowa City, Mrs. John (Beverly) Rickles, Lost Nation and Mrs. Ivan (Marilyn) Lenz, Oxford; 15 grandchildren; 2 brothers, George Phillips, San Diego, Calif., and DeWayne Phillips, Escondido, Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. Marjorie Krebs, Iowa City.
A grandson and a brother preceded her in death.
