Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Cox Aldershof, 83, were held at St. Mary's church, Iowa City Sept. 20 with burial in Mount Calvary cemetery in Oxford. A Catholic Daughters and Catholic Order of Foresters rosary was held with a parish rosary at the George L. Gay Funeral Home.

Mrs. Aldershof died at Mercy hospital Iowa City Sept. 17 following a sudden illness.

The daughter of Richard and Margaret Moore Barry, she was born in Exira Aug. 29, 1895 and was married to James D. Cox Oct. 2, 1914. He died in 1951. She was married to Henry Aldershof Nov. 5, 1955. He died Sept. 14, 1977.

She was a member of St. Mary's church, Iowa City and the Catholic Daughters and Catholic Order of Foresters.

She is survived by 7 daughters, Mrs. Francis (Margaret) Schott, Marengo; Mrs. William (Maureen) Hamilton, Elmhurst, Ill.; Mrs. William (Mary) Vest, Ukiah, Calif.; Mrs. John (Dorothy Taylor) Schultz, Clarence; Mrs. Richard (Colleen) Keith, Iowa City; Mrs. Richard (Emilie) Ruth, Oxford; Mrs. Paul (JoAnne) Neuzil, Riverside; 2 sons, Richard Cox, Rapid City, S.D. and Joseph Cox, Grinnell; a stepson, Pierre Aldershof, Eldridge; 49 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, John Barry, Marcus; Frank Barry, Deerfield, Fla.; Bernard Barry, Lacona.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, a stepson, a granddaughter, a sister and 4 brothers.
