Shirley Ann Davison, 85, of Solon, formerly of Humboldt, IA, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023, at Solon Retirement Residence. A Graveside Service will bet at 11 AM, Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Indian Mound Cemetery, Humboldt, IA, with the Reverend Katherine Russell Officiating.

Shirley was born on April 16, 1937 in Humboldt County Iowa on the family farm to Floyd and Harriet (Potter) Lane. She graduated from Humboldt High School 1955. Shirley married George Lee Kathrens, Sr. and they lived in Colorado for a number of years where she was a trained nursing assistant at the Denver General Hospital in Denver Colorado until her retirement. After her husbands death in 1988, she married William Davison and returned to Humboldt and Palmer area to take care of her parents. Shirley was a longtime member of the United Methodist Women and Humboldt United Methodist Church. In 2018, Shirley moved to Coralville and then North Liberty to be cared for by her sister and brother-in-law.

Shirley is survived by her son, George Lee Kathrens Jr., a.k.a. Dave (Teddi) of Humboldt; grandchildren, heather Nicole Hanline (Robbie) of Bode, Damien Chrstopher Kathrens (Jill) of Gilmore City, Leeann Christine Sather of Humboldt, great grandchildren, Alexander Joseph Hanlin, Mallory and Aiden Brown; sister, Betty (Dennis) Sorg of North Liberty; extended family members, Jennifer Gertson of Dakota City, and Kay Hilton of Gilmore City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George lee Kathrens, Sr. in 1988 and Sonny Davison in 2003; infant brother, Floyd Lane Jr. and Cousin, Sonny Lane in 2022.
