Funeral services for Joe Parizek, 73, were held at the West Branch Methodist church Aug. 15 with the Rev. Dick Watkins officiating. Burial was in the Lone Tree cemetery.

Mr. Parizek died at University hospitals Aug. 13 after suffering a heart attack in Lone Tree Aug. 12.

The son of Joseph and Fannie Lonuger Parizek, he was born at Lone Tree Oct. 10, 1902 and was married to Myrtle Ella Ball at Iowa City Feb. 2, 1927. They farmed in the West Branch and West Liberty area.

He is survived by his wife, 4 sons, Gilbert and Leroy, West Liberty; James, Cedar Rapids; Jerry, Winterset; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Joanne) Burton, Coralville; 7 grandchildren, 3 brothers, Edward, Davenport; George, Hills and Fred, Lone Tree and 3 sisters, Mrs. Bess Anderlik, Webster City; Mrs. Clara Newton, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Della Hotz, Iowa City and Mrs. Blance Botruba, Des Moines. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers.
