Eunice (Sloper) Pinney (1812 - 1879)

Eunice Sloper was born in Franklin county, Ohio, January 25th, 1812. Married to Azariah Pinney November 18th, 1833. Moved from Franklin to Union county, in same State, and after a residence there of three years moved to Johnson county, Iowa, where they have since remained. She died July 12th, 1879, aged 66 years, 5 months, 17 days. She joined the Methodist Church when about seventeen years old, and for nearly fifty years has been a consistent member of the Christian church. She was the mother of seven children, four boys and three girls. Six children survive her – Eliza B. McCready, Harriet Victoria Boyd, George W., H. Birney, Henry G and Arthur A. Pinney. Her second daughter, Lydia D. Barkalow, having died just one year to a day before her mother. There are twenty-three grandchildren, all living except two.
