Kathleen Marie Pitlick, 62, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM, Monday, January 9, 2023, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Cosgrove, with burial to follow at St. Peter Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, January 8 from 2 PM to 7 PM at the St. Peter Parish Waldschmidt Hall. A Rosary will be recited at 1:30 PM prior to the visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Kathy Pitlick Memorial Fund c/o PO Box 167, Iowa City, Iowa 52244.

Kathy was born December 12, 1960 in Iowa City, lowa, to Kenneth and Joan (Skow) Burns. She was a 1979 graduate of Clear Creek High School and attended Northeast Missouri State University. On September 5, 1981 Kathy married the love of her life, Jeff Pitlick, at St. Peter Church.

Kathy was the Director of Scoring and Reporting at ACT, where she was employed for 26 years. Prior to that she owned and operated "Color My World Preschool". Kathy was an active member of St. Peter Church where she taught numerous Catechism and Confirmation classes, was a member of the Parish Council, and served on the Altar and Rosary Society.

Her greatest and most impactful vocation came as a stay-at home mom.

Most important to Kathy was her husband, her sons, their spouses, her grandchildren and her siblings. Kathy was a resilient, strong, selfless, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who always put the needs of others before her own. She will be greatly missed.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Jeff, their four sons and nine grandchildren, Michael (Amy) Pitlick and children, Makenna, Hudson, Graham and Collins of Adel, Matthew (Jamie) Pitlick and children, Madison, Parker and Josephine of Clive, Mark (Devyn) Pitlick and children, Mason and Riley of Bloomfield, and Mitchell (Jaeda) Pitlick of Rochester, MN;
her siblings, Mike Burns, Pat (Kris) Burns, Gerry (Deb) Burns, Jim (Dawn) Burns, Jeanne (Guy) Goldsmith, and Shelli (Heath) Mardesen; sister-in-law, Kathy (Tim) Burns; in-laws, Morrie and Marilyn (Krob) Pitlick; sister-in-law, Julie (Ty); brothers-in-law, Mike (Laura), Pat (Shelly), and Gary (Aimee); and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Tim.
