Susan Elaine Scott, 78, of Clinton, IA, died Friday, December 23, 2022 at The University of Iowa Hospitals after a fall. Inurnment will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clinton YWCA, The Humane Society or The Eastern Star.

Susan was born November 11, 1944 in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Halvor and Mildred Scott. She attended Iowa City Schools and The University of Iowa, graduating in 1966 in Elementary Education. Susan devoted her life to teaching; She taught 2nd grade for 6 years and 3rd grade for 32 years at Henry Sabin School. Susan finished her career after 5 years at Whittier Elementary retiring in 2004.

In retirement she enjoyed walking her schnauzer, Baron, exercising at the YWCA, going to the
movies and watching TV, especially football and the Iowa Hawkeyes. She also enjoyed visiting
her niece, Lisa Ebanks in the Cayman Islands. Susan was a member of ISEA, NEA, Eastern Star and the Clinton YMCA.

She is survived by her brother Dr. William Scott( Winnie); two nephews, Dr. Chris Scott (Kassia)
and Doug Scott(Anne); two nieces, Kara Schares (Bill) and Lisa Ebanks (Shane); and many great nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Shirley Rayner.
