IN MEMORIAM. – On Sunday last occurred the death, at her residence in Union township, of Mrs. Thomas Brady.

She was an old settler, and came to this frontier after a very varied experience. Her husband was a soldier in the U.S. army, and her early life was spent in camps and on the verge of battles. In the Indian wars of the far South, in the contest with Blackhawk, in the war with Mexico he bore a part, and she was for most of the time his companion in those stirring scenes which have gone into history.

Her life here was passed, first in the earnest work of making a home in the new country, and latterly, in the quiet of old age, in the serene enjoyment of what her household had wrought.

The funeral occurred yesterday, and was attended by a very large number of old settlers and sympathizing friends.
