Millie Z. Brewer, age 23, passed away unexpectedly in Iowa City on December 10, 2022.

Millie’s family will receive guests at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service (2720 Muscatine Ave, Iowa City) on Saturday, December 17, from 1-4 pm, concluding with a funeral service at 4 pm.

Millie was born February 8, 1999 in China, and later adopted in August 20, 2000 by her parents, Stanley Brewer and Susan Jacobi. Millie was known for her musical talent (she was an accomplished clarinetist and pianist) and her writing ability. She was an out of the box thinker which assisted greatly with her degree in Creative Writing through the University of Iowa. Millie was strong-willed and held strong beliefs and opinions. She loved animals and spending time with her family. Her passing leaves an emptiness in our lives, but her legacy continues through all those who love her.

Millie’s family includes her parents, Stan and Susan; sister, Suzy Brewer; grandparents, Paul Brewer and Donald Jacobi; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Sadly, Millie is preceded in death by her grandparents, Mary Brewer and Mayme Jacobi.

Memorial contributions in Millie’s honor may be made to her family and will be used towards organizations that were important to her.
