Kathleen M. Ross, 92, of Iowa City died on Monday, August 22, 2005 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics following a brief illness.

Funeral Services will be held 4:00 Pm Saturday, August 27, 2005 at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church
Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx, New York.
Memorials may be made to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church

Kathleen was born January 3, 1913 in Kingston, Jamaica the daughter of Alvin and Ione (Figueroa) Ross. She was raised and lived in St. Anne’s Bay Jamaica until age 31. She then lived in Brooklyn and the Bronx, worked in New York from 1944 until her retirement in 1979 and than lived in St. Petersburg, Florida before moving to Iowa City in 1991.

Kathleen was member at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Iowa City. She was an Elder at Rio Vista Presbyterian Church in Florida and she put in over 3,851volunteer hours cuddling premature babies at UIHC.

Kathleen will be most remembered by those who loved her for her generosity, love of family, especially children. She loved to bake and cook and she had a “green thumb.” Above all treasured the Bible and walked closely with the Lord.

Kathleen is survived by four nieces; Wendy (Larry) Kelly of Malvern, PA, Patricia (William) Lawton of Iowa City, IA, Nancy Ennis of Houston, TX and Diane (John) Ryan of Mahopac, NY, a nephew, Ian Ross of Miami, FL, one sister-in-law Fay Ross of Safety Harbor, FL. She was also survived by her 5 great nephews: Jeffrey Lynch, Douglas Lynch, Timothy Lawton, Andrew Ross, and John Ross Ryan, by her 5 great nieces; Jeanne (Lawton) Esler, Diane Ennis, Mallory Ross, Darcy Ryan, Kendra Ryan, and by 10 great great nieces and nephews.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Alvin, Dennis and Kenneth and his wife Dorothy.
