The following notice was intended for publication last week but was neglected unintentionally by the person who prepared it.

DIED,

On the 25th inst., at her residence near Iowa City, SARAH WHITMAN, wife of Mr. CHARLES M. CALKIN.

Mrs. CALKIN had been declining towards the grave during the past year, yet two of her three young children, in that time, went before her to the better country. And though she was awaiting the approach of death with Christian resignation, it came at last in a sudden and unexpected manner. She died sitting in her chair after a few moments hemorrhage from the lungs. As she lived respected and beloved, she died lamented by a large circle of friends. – communicated.
