Dorothy Marie (Metzger) Edens of Iowa City and previously of Davenport, died peacefully on Friday, November 11, 2022, at 90 years of age. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Dorothy was born on June 30, 1932 in Augusta IL to Frederick H. Metzger and Mary E. Bielek. She was the owner and operator of Edens Automatics Company, Inc. in Davenport for over 50 years. She was a gifted seamstress and loved sewing, civil war history and classical music.

Survivors include her children, son Dr. Erik Edens, daughters Grace Lawrence, Jennifer Goeringer, Rosellen Edens, Heidi (Josh) Olander; she was Buba and Bubbie to grandchildren: Cabot, Michelle, Mary, Erika, Dorothy, Elizabeth, Erik Jr., Augusta, Grant, Olivia; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; her sister Darlene Lotspeich; cousins Mary Tafel & Marty Harger.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her triplet daughters who died in infancy: Heidi, Holly & Heather; and her siblings Arlene Lund & Andrew Metzger.

Memorials in Dorothy’s name may be made to Atrium Village, P.O. Box 220, Hills IA 52235. The family extends their sincere thanks to Atrium Village for the exceptional care they provided to their Mom.
