A. MARTIN IS DEAD AT HOME
Dies of Paralysis After Nearly Half-Century’s Residence Here.
Abraham Martin, aged 75 years 7 months and 20 days, died at his hme[sic], 633 S. Dodge street, this morning at 9:30. He had been ill about 15 months and was a victim of paralysis. The funeral will take place Monday afternoon at 1:30 from his late residence, and from the German Lutheran church at 2. Rev. H. Brueckner will officiate. The interment will be in Oakland cemetery.
Mr. Martin was a respected pioneer, having lived hereabouts more than 47 years. He came here from Liberty township four years ago. He was a brave civil war soldier and a member of the Grand Army.
Surviving are his widow, one sone[sic], Fred Martin, Iowa City, and five daughters. A brother, Adam, of Iowa City, and a sister in California also survive.
