Dennis Maxwell “Max” Miller, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022 at his residence.

Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Lensing’s Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Road in Coralville. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Private interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville.

Max was born in Algona, Iowa on March 31, 1949 to Irving “Pudge” Miller and Roberta (Simpson) Miller.

He attended Wartburg College and the Hawkeye Institute of Technology (Hawkeye College) where he graduated with honors.

Max and his wife, Lynda Mueller were united in marriage on June 6, 1970 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona. The couple moved to Coralville where Max began work with Powers Willis Architects and Engineers and later in 1977, with Neumann Monson Architects in Iowa City until retirement in 2014. Max was a talented architectural draftsman and won several awards for his work.

Max enjoyed traveling in Minnesota with dear friends, reading and watching University of Iowa sporting events.

He was a loving father to his daughter and son and a true friend to many. Max is survived by his loving wife, Lynda; daughter, Amy (Bo) Brown of Anna, Texas; son, Joshua (Missy) Miller of Council Bluffs; grandchildren: Colton and Madison Brown; brother, Scott Miller of Prescott, Wisconsin; stepmother, Bonnie Miller of Hampton; stepbrother, Todd (Lori) Miller of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; stepsister, Tracy (Jeff) Spear of Hampton as well as many nieces and nephews.
