Dr. Thomas R. Wolf, 95, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022 in Coralville, Iowa.

Friends are welcome to attend a graveside service which will be held at a later date at Friends Cemetery in Richland, Iowa. The time and date will be announced.

Dr. Wolf, the son of Wayne and Kathryn (Robinson) Wolf, was raised in Des Moines and was active in scouting and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He served in the US Navy for one year in 1945. Dr. Wolf attended Graceland College and graduated from Drake University, where he studied for his pre-med. He then graduated in 1951 from The College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines. He practiced medicine in Richland, Iowa for 37 years where he delivered over 700 babies. Dr. Wolf was named a fellow in Family Practice in 1984.

Dr. Wolf was active in his profession and served as President of the Iowa Society of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons and also as a delegate to the American Osteopathic Association. He was a member of Lions International Club since 1958.

While in Richland his interests turned to long distance running, completing 42 marathons including the Boston Marathon. Later he did triathlons and bicycling including RAGBRAI. In various rides and race he crossed each of the states of Florida, Georgia, Iowa and North Carolina. When Iowa celebrated the 150th anniversary of statehood, he rode the 150 miles in one day to commemorate the occasion.

Dr. Wolf retired in Sun City Center, FL in 1988 with his wife, Phyllis. Phyllis preceded him in death in 2005 after 59 years of marriage. He was active in ballroom dancing. His dancing partner for many years was Phyllis, and after her death his partner and companion was Harriet Wollmers of Florida.

He is survived by three children Tom (Lois) Wolf, Kay (Dave) Bombei and William Wolf; two grandchildren Cindra Bombei (Travis Swartzendruber) and Brianna (Tyler) Daniel; and one great-grandson Blake.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one brother Cliff.
