Madison, Iowa graduating from high school in 1974, he then enlisted in the United States Army serving in Germany. Returning to Ft. Farron was a laid back type of guy who enjoyed his flip flops, casual dress and listening to Jimmy Buffet, Bob Marley, Kenny Chesney or any Blues, Jazz and Reggae music. He was an avid Harley Davidson fan and enjoyed riding motorcycles and attending bike night with his friends. He liked reading mysteries and action filled books. Traveling to Florida every year with family and friends was something he looked forward to. Near and dear to his heart was family and he liked nothing better than being called Dad and Papa.
