Ames - Candace Neva Kasparek, 79, passed into eternal rest at 2:30 a.m., June 8, 2022. She had resided at Ames Accura Healthcare for about three years.

Candace was born in Fort Benning, Georgia on September 18, 1942, known as a " WWII baby". She married Ken Kasperek in 1982. She taught elementary school a few years before working as a secretary. She was an intelligent and caring person.

Candace was preceded in death by her mother and father, Marcelline Prodger and Arthur Cutler of Coralville, Iowa and husband, Ken Kasparek from North Liberty. She is survived by her three sisters: Betsy McGuire of Novato, California, Cecelia Israel of Des Moines, Iowa and Carrie Cutler of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida; as well as her four nieces and nephews, whom she loved, and always remembered their birthdays with gifts and cards.

Candace encountered the difficult challenges of mental illness and courageously faced each new day.

A private prayer service will be held at a later date.

She will be fondly remembered as a brave soul who has entered into a new life of Love and Glory.
