Stephanie Wilkinson, 55, of Iowa City, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 25, 2022. Visitation will be held at Lensing Funeral home, 605 Kirkwood Avenue, Iowa City from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, April 29. A celebration of her life takes place at Parkview Church - East Campus, 1027 US Hwy 6, Iowa City at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 30. A luncheon will follow the service. Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
Stephanie Sue Turner was born in Urbandale, IA on June 20, 1966 to Roberta and Tom Turner. She graduated from Urbandale High School. She worked as a hairstylist in Des Moines and later in Iowa City for several years, eventually moving on to a position at AW Welt Insurance and then to RR Donnelley Printing in Iowa City. At the time of her passing, she was a beloved and valued team member at Ellison Insurance in Solon as a licensed insurance agent and Senior Producer.
She is survived by her husband, John Wilkinson, and their two children J. David and Ashley Wilkinson. Also survived by her parents Roberta Turner and Tom Turner, her siblings Tom (Lili) Turner, Tiffany (Matthias) Kieselack. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, in-laws, and out-laws.
Stephanie and John met in Des Moines in 1986 when John showed up on his Harley. They were married in Des Moines in 1987 and moved to Iowa City shortly after. Stephanie and John developed a wonderful community of friends in their neighborhood who also had rugrats to wrestle. She was an avid reader and writer, taking her children to the library weekly to haul home bags of books with a stop at Whitey’s ice cream.
Stephanie was active in her church, spending much of her time on the leadership team and with the close community there. She was a devoted Christian and fierce follower of Christ.
