Patricia Ann Randall, age 79, of Iowa City, passed away peacefully having been surrounded by her family these last days on Monday, March 14, 2022, under the compassionate care of everyone at Legacy Gardens. Pat has deeded her body to the University of Iowa so that others in the medical field can learn, just as Pat did, as she pursued her career in the nursing field.
A time for family and friends to gather to remember this dear soul will be held from 3 to 5 pm Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine Research Fund or to the Fraternal order of Eagles Diabetes Research Fund. Pat was born on August 29, 1942, the daughter of Thomas and Cheryl (Duncan) Berstler of Fort Madison, IA. Upon graduation from the University of Iowa Nursing Program, Pat married David “Dave” Randall, her loving husband of 57 years. She began her pediatric nursing career at the University of Iowa Hospitals, transitioning into school nursing and later working for Johnson County Department of Health, in the Pediatric Wellness Clinic. Pat loved children which showed in her dedication to her lifelong pediatric nursing career.
Pat is survived by her husband, Dave Randall; their four children, Teresa Turner, Tim Randall (Barbara), Shelly Hull (Michael) and Joseph Randall (Amanda); six grandchildren, Nic Jones, Lisa Turner, Taryn Turner, Austin Hull, Maddison Tiecke (Tyler) and Jack Randall; one great-grandchild, Jaiden Lawrence, and another expected in May; and her brother, Mike Berstler (Deborah). She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pat’s family wants to thank both the University of Iowa Diabetic Clinic and the staff at Legacy Gardens for all their outstanding dedication, care and love that you’ve provided to Pat over time.
