Sally Ann Smith, 77, loving wife of James, died Saturday at Crestview Rehabilitation and Care Center in West Branch.

Sally was born May 3, 1944 in Joliet, Illinois, the daughter of William and Mary Scahill Whitley. On November 21, 1979 Sally married James Smith in Joliet, Illinois.

Sally and James lived in Joliet and New Lenox, Illinois most of their lives. In 2019 they moved to Coralville to be closer to their daughter Sarah and her family.

Sally is survived by her husband, James, and their daughter, Sarah (Brent) Koppenhaver of North Liberty, and three grandchildren, Cora, Calvin, and Carter; and two siblings, Marianne Whitley of Texas and William Whitley of Omaha.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents.

No services are planned. Inurnment will be at a later date at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet, Illinois.
