Robert LeRoy Dunn, 92, passed away January 5, 2022 at Keystone Place Forevergreen in North Liberty, Iowa.

Bob was born May 30, 1929, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Clarence and Gertrude Dunn. He graduated from McKinley High School in 1946. Bob married Jean Rogers in 1950 and spent 55 memorable years together before she passed away in 2005. Later, Emily Norden became his companion.

Bob worked for Link Belt FMC for 33 years, starting out as a factory worker and retiring as an International Service Manager which gave him the ability to travel the world.

He was an avid pilot and served as a commander in the civil air patrol, receiving a congressional medal of honor for his decades of service.

Bob enjoyed photography, wood carving and flying. He was an excellent storyteller and loved to share life experiences with his loved ones.

He is survived by his sister Linda Thomas of Willow Park, TX; two sons Robert B. (Carmen) Dunn and Scott (Jodi) Dunn, both of North Liberty, IA; daughter Trisha Dunn of Medford, OR; two grandchildren April (Matt) Peoples and Tia Dunn; two step grandchildren Heidi and Shaina Fay; two great-grandchildren Landon Peoples and Maxwell Dunn; five step great-grandchildren Eboni, Jayla, Lawton, Torriana and Flex; extended family members Jim (JoAnne) Long of Longmont, CO, and Ken Long of Phoenix, AZ, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his companion, two sons Gerald and David Dunn, grandson Clinton Dunn and two siblings Virginia and Leon.

Funeral services will be held Thursday January 13, 2022 at 11:30 AM at North Liberty First United Methodist Church, 85 North Jones Blvd, North Liberty, Iowa. Visitation will be held an hour before the service from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. Masks are required for those who are attending. Private burial will be held at Ridgewood Cemetery in North Liberty. The service will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend, and a link to access the livestream is available on the tribute wall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Green Castle Aero Club Foundation or Care Initiatives Hospice- Cedar Rapids.
