Scott W. Wilsey, age 59, passed away January 17, 2022 in Iowa City.
Scott’s family will receive guests at the funeral home on Friday, January 21, from 4-6 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 22, at 11 am (instate at 10 am) at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (570 Dublin Drive, Iowa City).
Scott was born September 1, 1962 in Wenatchee, Washington, the son of Robert ( Wayne ) and Shannon (Mooberry) Wilsey. He was a young boy when they moved to Loon Lake and Chewelah, Washington where he formed many lifelong friendships. Scott loved his family, and he married the love of his life in 1984. Together they had three children and eight grandchildren all of whom he loved with all his heart. His favorite thing to do was spend time with family and friends and make sure everyone always had enough to eat. It didn’t matter who you were if you showed up at the house Scott was making sure you didn’t leave hungry. His compassion and strong work ethic was endless. He enjoyed hard work and he missed it greatly when his disability took him from it. He also loved watching his children play sports. He enjoyed listening to Prince on full blast and watching COPS on television with his grown children. His kindness and warmth will be missed but his legacy will be carried on by all who knew him.
Scott’s family include his beloved wife of 37 years, Kris; children, Scott (Taryn) Wilsey, Brittnee Wilsey and Amy Wilsey; grandchildren, Tehya, Kingston, Raelee, Bryden, Bentlee, Emiree, Axton and Legend; siblings, Shane (Karen) Wilsey and Kristie Cafaro; special in-laws David and Geraldine Hayward; best friend, Bob Strickland; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorials in Scott’s memory are suggested to his family. Please continue to keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
