Larry M. Greiner, 73, of Riverside, Iowa went to be with Jesus on December 21, 2021.
Larry was the son of Harold and Dorothy Greiner. He graduated from Sigourney High School (Sigourney, Iowa) then went to Iowa State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Education. In 1970 he married his college sweetheart, Teri, and they began their family life together. For 31 years, Larry worked for Farmers National Company in farm management and real estate. Raising their family in Iowa City, they became actively involved at Parkview Church where Larry served in various ministries and on committees, including the building committee for the expansion of the facility in 2000. Larry retired in 2014, and moved to an acreage where he enjoyed working outside and in his wood shop. In recent years he enjoyed friendships through his involvement with the Early Morning Optimist Club.
More important than the work and ministry Larry did was his relationship with Jesus Christ. John 14:6 says, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"
Larry loved his family dearly and served them faithfully. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Teri Greiner, daughters Tracey Wylie (Scott) and Christina Deppen (Phil), and son Nathan Greiner (Renee), grandsons Tristan Wylie (Madie) and Trent Wylie, Bryce and Garrett Deppen, Beau and Dane Greiner, and great-granddaughter Ava Wylie.
He is also survived by his siblings Jane Glenn (Gary), Steve Greiner (Muriel), Sally Peiffer (Joe), and Susan Rogers along with several nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by Harold and Dorothy Greiner and brother-in-law Todd Rogers.
Services celebrating Larry’s life will be held at 11am Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the Parkview Church, where there will be a time of visitation from 9:30 am until 10:45am Saturday at the church. Private family graveside services will be held at the Sigourney Cemetery following a reception at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Larry’s memory to the Parkview Church.
