Ethel Joann Good, 80, of North Liberty, passed away on December 9, 2021, at Mercy Hospital
surrounded by family.Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 13, 2021, at Life Church, 2205 2nd St., Coralville, IA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Ethel’s GoFundMe page (https://gofund.me/536bc0a2).
Ethel was born on January 16, 1941, in Rapid City, South Dakota, the daughter of Theron Wray and Rosella Mae (Russell) Oakes. She was raised in the Iowa City and Coralville area and has lived in North Liberty since 1998.
For many years, Ethel worked for the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics as an Operating Room Technician, an ERG Technician, and Anesthesia Technician. She retired in 2003 from UIHC and then went on to work for Oral B and worked as a resident assistant at Liberty Country Living in North Liberty.
She was an active member at Life Church and participated regularly with the local food pantry.
Ethel enjoyed spending time with her family, crafting and gardening.
Ethel is survived by her three daughters; Kimberly Kay Whetstone, Jody Lynn Stucker and Donelle Denise Stucker; grandchildren Kelly Leigh Stucker (raised as a daughter), Tracy Jo Stucker, Richard Theron Stucker, Ronda Mae Broulik (Jacob), Dustin Wayne Stucker, Joseph Alan Simon (Chana), Mindy Sue Collins (Jerod), Amy Jean Simon, and Kurtis Adam Simon; siblings, Jaquelyn Hutcheson (William) and Terry Oakes; 21 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and one more on the way. She is also survived by numerous extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theron and Rosella (Russell) Oakes, her brothers Albert Oakes and Greg Oakes and her great granddaughter Samantha Jo Broulik.
