Our loving mother, Masoka Benita Kilima passed away on November 3rd 2021 in Iowa City, IA. At her time of death, she was living in Iowa City, IA. Masoka passed away after a brave battle with cancer. Masoka was a loveable mother who was loved by all that she met along her journey here on this earth.

Masoka Benita was born in Uvira, Congo on March 5th 1965. She was the daughter of Abedi Prosper Waembwe and Zabibu Kayanda. Masoka Benita was Mbembe Mbondo MSHI M’MUMA, Banenge Family, a sister to 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Masoka attended school in Uvira, Congo, she was involved with the church, and she was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Masoka married Martin King Kilima son of Kilima Lweeya Mbembe Mbondo, Bashaenge bashimboko, family of Bashipindela. Masoka and her family moved to Tanzania, and then immigrated to the United States in 2010.

Masoka is survived by her husband Martin King Kilima, her five sons; Michael Kilima, Abedi Kilima, Don Kilima, Oliver Kilima, David Kilima, her daughters; Grace Kilima, Esther Kilima, Joyce Kilima and Claris Kilima, and 7 Grandchildren. Masoka was a daughter, a sister, a aunt, a grandmother, and most importantly, a mother who was loved, adored, and cherished. We know that her soul was welcomed into heaven, and she will live forever in our hearts.
