Sun Hwa Kwak, 74 passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at home surrounded by her family.

A private family service will be held. Burial will be in her family cemetery, Shalom Memorial Park, Arlington Heights, Illinois.
Sun was born in Seoul, South Korea, on June 15, 1947. She was united in marriage to Albert Kwak on June 30, 1973 in Oak Park, Illinois.

Sun was a staff nurse at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, labor and delivery, for 35 years, retiring in 2012.

Sun is survived by her husband, Albert; daughters, Lisa (Peter) Mah of Chicago, and Emily Kwak of Iowa City; and son, Andrew (Kyu Young) of Cypress, Texas; three grandchildren, Theo and Charlotte Mah, and Elliot Kwak.
