John Henry Seelman of rural Iowa City, died peacefully Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Atrium Village in Hills, Iowa.

John was born October 10, 1942 in Iowa City, the son of Viola Kron and Leo Seelman He graduated from University High School in 1961. Upon graduation he enlisted and served, in the Iowa National Guard.

John spent his adult life farming the family farm south of Iowa City. He farmed until his retirement in 2018. He was a very kind, gentle and quiet man and had an extraordinary memory. John could tell you the score of any Hawkeye game back 50 years and never forgot birthdays of friends and family. He loved the Hawkeyes and followed the weather religiously daily like most farmers do.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Dorothy. His care at Atrium Village was outstanding and he became a friend to all.
