Mary H. Meyer, 77, of Iowa City, died unexpectedly at her home on June 28, 2021.

Private graveside services will be held at Oakhill Cemetery in Tiffin.

In lieu of flowers and plants, the family suggests memorials to The Bird House - Hospice Home of Johnson County.

Born Mary Helen Vacik, the daughter of George and Gertrude (Smith) Vacik, she grew up in Coralville and graduated from Iowa City High School.

Mary met and married the love of her life, John G. Meyer in 1964. In addition to raising her family, Mary operated a children’s daycare out of her home for many years.

She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Hite (Tom) of Ponce Inlet, Florida,
Amy Hite of Benton Harbor, Michigan and Suzy Heck (Dave) of Iowa City;
grandchildren, Tori Hite, Thiel Hite and Thara Hite, Rob, Katrina and Ryan Hite and DJ and Gage Heck; brothers and sisters in law, Tom Meyer (Teresa) of Iowa City and Steve Meyer (Kathy) of Coralville and several nieces and nephews.
