Janet K, McLachlan, 74 of Coralville died Friday, June 4, 2021, at Lantern Park Specialty Care Center in Coralville.

Janet Kay Grothe was born on March 20, 1947, the daughter of Bernard and Leona (Wissink) Grothe. She attended and graduated from Regina High School in 1965 and later from Kirkwood Community College. On March 21, 1970, she married Robert M. “Bob” McLachlan at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Iowa City. For many years she worked for MidWest One Bank in Iowa City. She has spent her entire life in this area.

Her family includes her husband, Bob; their daughter, Michelle Marie McLachlan; brother and his wife, Thomas “Tom” and Dorothy Grothe; sister-in-law, Becky McLachlan; brother-in-law, Tom McLachlan and his wife, Kristine and nieces and nephews, Tami, Jennifer, Andrea, Carl, Tommy and Nicki.

Following Jan’s instructions for this time, no public services are planned, private family graveside services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial donations to the University of Iowa Stead Children’s Hospital to continue support of those children battling cancer.
