Mildred A. Larimer, age 92 formerly of Oxford and Coralville died Friday, June 24, 2005, at the Iowa City Rehab and Health Care Center in Iowa City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 30, 2005, at the Oxford United Methodist Church with the Reverend Diane Townsley officiating. Burial will be at the Oxford Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm Wednesday at the church. A memorial fund has been established in Mildred’s memory. Mildred A. Burse Larimer was born November 7, 1912, in Waukegan, IL, the daughter of Forest and Susan (Blamey) Burse. Following graduation from high school in Waukegan, Mildred married Parker S. Larimer Sr. on January 12, 1932, in Waukegan. The couple moved to Oxford where she resided for over fifty-two years before moving to Coralville in 1986. For over twenty-two years she was employed by ACT of Iowa City.

She was a member of the Oxford United Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge, and volunteered at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City. Mildred enjoyed her garden, fishing, sewing, and singing. Those who knew her knew a very loving and generous woman.

Her family includes four daughters, Myra Jane Moran of Madison, WI, Patricia O’Connell and her husband, Danny of Cedar Rapids, Judith Eller of Salida, CO and Linda Bender and her husband, Terry of West Branch; one son, Gerald Larimer and his wife, Jean of Columbus Junction, IA; 25 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 daughters,Adrienne Kelly, Mildred and Susan Larimer; 2 sons, Whiston “Bub” Larimer and Parker Larimer; 4 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, 1 sister and 4 brothers.
