Peter was born in Minneapolis on January 15, 1967, the son of Dr. Peter R. and Grace (Adamski) Jochimsen. He was a graduate of Regina High School and attended Ripon College in Wisconsin and Kirkwood Community College.

Following college, Peter moved to Minneapolis where he was employed by North Prairie Tile Works and learned to make specialty tiles. You may be able to spot some of his creations in historical buildings around Minneapolis. Peter also was a handyman doing painting and odd jobs around the city.

Peter had a great passion for biking. He rode RAGBRAI in his early years and made many camping trips with friends and family in recent years, one planned was for April 23rd. He had a wonderful curling family with the St. Paul Curling Club, that allowed him to learn and enjoy this hobby and travel the United States, throwing stones. Peter also was very instrumental in Soo Line Community Garden where they took a tax forfeited piece of land and transformed it into 97 beautiful, neighborhood garden plots. Peter was an avid student of the General George Custer Legend. He participated in several trips, to the site of the battlefield, with other enthusiasts, to fully understand the tragedy of the encounter.

Peter is survived by his parents, Peter R. and Grace of Iowa City; his sister, Catherine (James) Bayne of Fairfax; his brother, Christopher (Cynthia Matson) Jochimsen of Savannah, GA; nephews, Jacob Bayne and William Bayne; niece and goddaughter Adelaide (Dylan Robson, fiance) Bayne; special Minneapolis friends, Dan Timlin, Chris Milder and Marcy Russell; and his cat, Randy.

Peter was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. Marvin and Adelaide (Heidi) Jochimsen and Louis and Lucile Adamski and uncles, James and Gerald Adamski.

A celebration of Life will take place in Minneapolis, at a later date.
