Vicki Lynn Hustosky, 73, of Coralville passed away April 1, 2021 at her home following a long illness.

Honoring her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.

Vicki was born on November 30, 1947 in Waterloo, Iowa to Richard and Phyllis (Luck) Bauer. She grew up in the Waterloo area and graduated from La Porte High School. She furthered her education at Hawkeye Tech, where she graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

She moved to Coralville in 1979, where she lovingly raised her daughter Keri. Vicki was dedicated to her role as a nurse and cared deeply for her patients throughout her career. She worked for Visiting Nurses Association for 34 years, retiring in 2013 as the Intake and Referral Coordinator.

Vicki married the love of her life, John Hustosky on September 1, 2005 in Iowa City after more than a decade together. Tragedy struck when John was diagnosed with cancer and died in 2008. She lost a part of herself the day she lost him but the joy her daughter and grandchildren brought her helped her get through the devastating loss.

She was a simple woman and valued the most important people in her life, her daughter, grandchildren, and siblings. If not spending time with them, she enjoyed bowling and going to events at the eagle’s club with her husband before he passed away.

She is survived by her daughter Keri Bohnsack of Iowa City, IA; one brother Rick (Maggie) Bauer of Waterloo, IA; one sister Nicki (Greg) Streff of Grand Blanc, MI, and three grandchildren Emmalie, Joseph and Joshuah Bohnsack, all of Iowa City, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and stillborn grandson Benjamin Bohnsack.
