Virginia was born October 9, 1924, the daughter of Marcella and Jack Kelly and sister to Jackie and Pat. She married Jack Grady June 21, 1947 at St. Pat's Church. Virginia raised four children and loved life. She and Jack were regular attendees dancing the night away at the Elks Club on Saturday night. She enjoyed golf, tennis, walking with her friends on Linder Road every morning, and bridge with the gals. She was so talented with her knitting, needle point and other hand work. In her 70's, she was so happy to learn to paint and created many lovely pieces. She and Jack loved to travel visiting many European countries. She especially loved the trip to Ireland with her sisters and their husbands. After having located the original Grady house, they were invited in for lunch consisting of boiled potatoes and whiskey. She and Jack also traveled in their converted van to the northwest United States and many other locations.

Virginia is survived by her children Pat (Margo) Grady, Kathy (Ed) Saehler, both of Iowa City, Jim (Leslie) Grady of Bloomfield, Colorado and Tim (Mila) Grady of Iowa City. Virginia was so proud to be the grandmother of eleven - Tim Saehler, Shannon (Nile) Hicks, Jenny (Andrew) Paul, Dan (Allie) Grady, Joe Grady, Erin Grady, Alison Grady, Peter Grady, Claire (Dan) Hottinger, Ben Grady and Maria Grady. Her 5 great grandchildren were just "frosting on the cake" - Grady Hicks, Quinn Hicks, Jackson Grady, Jayden Paul and Georgia Hottinger. She is also survived by her sister, Pat Moore and numerous nieces and nephews.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack, sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Roger Wotkyns and brother-in-law Mick Moore.

The family would like to express our gratitude to the wonderful people at The Bird House. They are angels.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Bird House - Hospice Home of Johnson County, P. 0. Box 3338, Iowa City, Iowa 52244, St. Patrick's Church and Iowa City Hospice.

We love you, Mom. May you rest in eternal peace.
