Dorothy “Dot" Georgia Lois Lumpa, 94, died on January 26, 2021 at Keystone Place in North Liberty.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Friends of the Animal Center Foundation.

Dot was born on October 18, 1926 in River Junction, Iowa, the daughter of Jack and Eleanor (Cline) Davis. She was raised in River Junction. On June 5, 1946, Dot married Robert D. Lumpa in Atlanta, GA. They had four children: Gary, Betty, Bev, and Barb. Robert died on November 23, 2007.

For many years, Dot was a homemaker and then went on to work at the Robin Hood Room at the Sycamore Mall, Pearsons, and the Iowa City Press Citizen.

Dot was often seen walking all over Iowa City with family and friends. She was a caretaker of many individuals that she came to know and care for as family. She volunteered for nearly 25 years at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, and she bowled for many years. Cards, for sure, were her real passion… especially Euchre. And last but not least, she was known far and wide for her pie making, especially lemon meringue, which she delivered as a spirit lifting expression.

Dot is survived by her children: Gary (Kimberly) Lumpa of Iowa City, IA, Betty (Terry) White of Davenport, IA, Bev (Mike) Faas of Grand Rapids, MI, and Barb Dundon of Iowa City, IA; ten grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dot was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, two sisters and three brothers.
