Esther K. Mabe, 96, formerly of Iowa City, died Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at Parkview Mennonite Home, Wayland, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, June 16, 2005, at the Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Iowa City. Visitation will be from noon until service time Thursday, at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent for Esther’s family through our website @www.gayandciha.com.

Esther was born January 15, 1909, in Noble, Iowa to Elmer and Mary (Alliman) Wyse. On April 15, 1948, she married William Mabe; Bill preceded her in death on June 7th, 1987. Esther lived most of her adult life in Iowa City where she was member of First Mennonite Church, Iowa City. Esther enjoyed gardening, sewing and spending time with her two granddaughters.

Esther’s family includes a daughter, Mildred “Millie” and husband, Michael Wolfe and two granddaughters, Nicole and Analisa all of Marietta, Georgia

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers.
