Michael “Mike” M. Mihm, 71, of Iowa City, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at his home.

Michael chose to be cremated. Due to COVID-19, no services are planned at this time. Memorials in Mike’s name may be directed to the Michael Mihm Memorial Fund.

Born January 27, 1949 in Charles City, Iowa, the son of Alexander and Mary Jo (Crahan) Mihm, Mike grew up in Ft. Atkinson, Iowa.
Graduating from Turkey Valley High School in 1967, he moved to Iowa City and earned his degree from the University of Iowa school of business. Mike served in the US Navy from 1976 to 1980.

Deciding to return to Iowa City following his tour of duty, Mike worked for the University of Iowa science labs and out at the Oakdale campus. He retired in 2016.

Mike was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Green Bay Packers. He also had a lifelong appreciation of music, collecting beer related items, and similar antiques.

Survivors include his siblings, Kathleen Mihm, John and Enoka (Kumarapperuma) Mihm and their son Helio, and Joe Mihm, all of Iowa City.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents., 71, of Iowa City, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at his home.
