Agnes Costello McLaughlin, 86 of Windmill Point died Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at Windmill Manor after a brief illness.

There will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Rudolph Juarez officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service is handling the arrangements.

Mrs. McLaughlin was born on August 18, 1918 in Iowa City to Lillian (Connell) Costello and John William Costello. She graduated from St. Patrick’s High School in Iowa City in 1935 and graduated from the University of Iowa in 1941 with a B.S. degree in Business Administration. She was employed for 34 years in the Academic Office of the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Iowa. Agnes made friends where ever she went. She was always helping others. She also had a great love of music.

She married Melvin L. McLaughlin on May 7, 1960. He died on June 28, 1990.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mary Dean and Loretto Costello.

Survivors include one sister in law, Norma Cumberland, 12 cousins and 15 nieces and nephews.
