Calvin Michael Meyer, 35 of Linn Creek, MO, passed away, Sunday, August 16, 2020 at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics after a long battle with cancer.

Calvin was born May 26, 1985 in Macomb, IL to Michelle (Foxall) Feit and Randy Meyer. He married his best friend, Annie Baxter on March 19, 2011 in Las Vegas, NV. His wife Annie survives in Linn Creek.

He is also survived by his daughter, Ella “Snoopy” Meyer at home; both parents; step-father, Paul Feit of Camdenton, MO; paternal grandmother, JoAnn Meyer; maternal grandparents, Ken and Sarah Foxall of Macomb, IL; brother, Kenny (Anne) Meyer of Macomb, IL; step-brother, Aaron Feit of Lexington, IL; sister-in-law, Shayla Meyer of West Burlington, IA; nephews Easton Meyer of West Burlington, and Barrett Meyer of Macomb; father-in-law and mother in-law, Leon and Lou Baxter; brother-in-law, AnDrew Baxter; aunts, Keena (Loren) Hester of Lilburn, GA, Tamara (Ryan) Coffin of Middletown, IA, and Connie Meyer of Iowa; uncle, Robert (Melody) Meyer; cousins, Caleb Hester, Bailey Rump, Halle Coffin, Sarah Hester, Brenton Coffin and Taylor Coffin, and countless friends in the dirt track and fishing communities.

He attended grade school in Colchester, IL, then Nauvoo, IL, before attending high school in Fort Madison, IA. Calvin worked with his grandfather at Ken Foxall Construction starting in his teens. Then, for many years as a shop maintenance man at Millard’s Heating and Cooling, before becoming an electrician at BLI.

Calvin loved life and didn’t waste any time making the best of it, for himself and his family. Ella and Annie were the light of his life. If Calvin wasn’t spending time with family, he was at the dirt track, on the river fishing for catfish, snagging for spoonbill on the Lake of the Ozarks, searching the creeks and fields for arrowheads, hunting for the big buck on his brother’s property, or hunting for mushrooms to share with his friends and family. Because of his passion for fishing, he lovingly earned the nickname “Catfish Calvin” by those closest to him.

Calvin was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Daniel Meyer and paternal grandfather, “Bud” Meyer.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at The Crossing Church, 1600 W. Jackson Street, Macomb, IL, with a meal to follow. Those attending are encouraged to wear their favorite Team Meyer or racing shirt. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the family for an educational fund that has been set up for his daughter.
