Funeral services for Nicholas (Nick) Beuter, 62, a lifelong resident of Solon, were held at Solon and at St. Bridget's church in the Nolan settlement April 4 by the Rev. Patrick McCoy. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery at Solon.
Mr. Beuter died April 1 at Solon, after a long illness.
Born near Solon Nov. 13, 1901, he farmed in that area all his life. He was a member of the Foresters and St. Mary's church at Morse.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Beuter, to whom he was married June 6, 1928; a daughter, Mrs. Ray Crock Jr., Tipton; five sons, James, Perry; Robert, Tipton; Nick R., Iowa City; and Barry and Thomas at home; 15 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Anthony Zenishek, Central City; and Mrs. Adolph Kucera, Solon; two half-sisters, Mrs. Walter Davis, Seattle; and Mrs. Leo Harahat, Iowa City; a brother, Joseph, Walker; and two half-brothers, Eugene and Lawrence of Solon.
