Dorla Deane Lemar, 78, of Columbus City, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at the Morning Sun Care Center in Morning Sun, Iowa as a result of a long battle of end stage COPD and heart related issues.
Dorla was born June 10th 1942 in Bethany, Missouri to Vodra Lavern Eisenbarger and Dorothy Delyn (Gillespie) Eisenbarger. Dorla graduated from Martinsville High School and Gards Business College in Missouri. She married her high school sweetheart Lester Vern Lemar on February 19th 1961 in Martinsville, Missouri.
Dorla was bookkeeper for many years at Brauns Feed and Grain and worked as a quality care inspector at IBP Inc. until her retirement in 1998.
Dorla enjoyed crocheting, knitting, crossword puzzles, and communicating through Facebook with others. Dorla loved spending time with her family.
Dorla will be deeply missed by daughters Cindy Burroughs (Mike), Lezlie Lemar (Troy), and Tonya Lemar-Whitehair (David); grandchildren M. John Lemar Burroughs, Jeffrey Scott Burroughs (Emily), Ebbe Renee Lemar Whitehair; great grandchildren Tyler Leon Lemar Burroughs (Mother Cheyenne Forbes); Hudson Dean and Hunter Scott Burroughs; niece and nephews Bryant Nelson, Jeana Sigrist, Kenneth Nelson, and Lanny Nelson, many friends and extended family.
Dorla is preceded in death by her husband, Lester Vern Lemar, parents, sister and brother-in-law, a grandchild and granddaughter-in-law.
A private family celebration of life will be held. Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, there will not be a public gathering.
