Marna Strever Wielert, age 93, of Pleasantview Home in Kalona and formerly of Hinckley, Illinois, died Thursday, May 19, 2005, at Pleasantview.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 23, 2005, at the Greenwood Cemetery in Hinckley, Illinois. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Pleasantview. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Marna’s memory to Pleasantview Home, P.O. Box 309, Kalona, Iowa 52247. Mrs. Wielert was born June 25, 1911, in Hinckley, Illinois, the daughter of Datis Ensign and Harriett (Bushbom) Strever. She graduated from Hinckley High School in 1929. On April 22, 1932, she married Clarence A. Wielert at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hinckley. Clarence died October 12, 1973. In 1989, Marna moved to the Iowa City area to be near her son and his family.

Her family includes her son and his wife, Jan Wielert and Jenean Arnold of Kalona; grandchildren Allan Wielert and his wife, Karen, of Iowa City; Jessica Bovey and Jocelyn Bovey, both of Madison, Wisconsin; a great-granddaughter, Grace Kathleen Wielert; a sister and her husband, Jean and John Balagna of Whiterock, New Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers John, Loren, and Merwin Strever; a sister, Allie Mae Barker; and sisters-in-law Faye, Ruth, and Mary Strever.
