Christine Michelle Wilmoth, 52, of Iowa City passed away April 30, 2020 at her son’s home, following a courageous battle with lung cancer.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 17 at 2pm at Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church in Kalona. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to St. Florian Fire and Burn Foundation.

Christine “Crissy” was born April 4, 1968 in Oceanside, California to Carl Mulstead and Francis Rummelhart. She was raised by her mother and step-father, Francis and John Wilmoth in Hills, Iowa.

Chrissy was the jack of all trades, and throughout her life, she worked as a roofer, grocery clerk, gas station clerk and cook, all while being a dedicated mother to her children. She not only worked as a cook, she also loved to cook and would make delicious meals for her friends and family. She gained a family when she became involved with St. Florian Fire and Burn Foundation, with her favorite time of the year being Family Burn Camp.

Crissy also loved coming to church and recently joined Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church in Kalona, where she was baptized on January 5, 2020. She gained many friendships and her newly found trust in Jesus brought so much joy to her life as well as strength and hope through her treatments.

Crissy loved her family and friends and will be missed by many.

She is survived by her children, Steven Hoff, Scotty Hoff, and Nathan Arp; her mother Fran Wilmoth; her sister Janlynn Wilmoth; two grandchildren, Phoenix and Vincent, and her nephew Tallen (Leah) Wilmoth.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother Blanche Rummelhart.
