Jo Lyn Boyer, age 65 of Cedar Rapids formerly of Waterloo and LaPorte City, died Monday, April 13, 2020 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Jo Lyn Lesh was born October 25, 1954 in Waterloo, the daughter of Ralph and Dorothy (Pettengill) Lesh. She attended Laporte City Schools graduating from Laporte City High School with the Class of 1972. She worked as a housekeeper but her more rewarding job was being mom to her children as she raised them.

Her family includes her life partner, Shawn Graham, her children, Audrey Young (Thomas), Cortney Ruggles (Lorenzo Foristall), Howard Ruggles (Cat), Amanda Wagens (Kevin), Tina Boyer, Danae Cagley, Ashleigh Malone and Sarah Graham; 11 grandchildren, Dariann, Dylan, Diamond, Destiny, Lorenzo II, Liliana, Tressa, Breanna, Cody, Orin and Elijah; siblings, Jenine Ratliff (Rick), Jeanne Bagenstos (Mark), Melissa Barber (Tom), William Lesh (Bev) and Rodney Lesh; former husband, Phil Ruggles and many nieces and nephews who were very special to her! She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Roney Lesh; and former husband, Allen Boyer.

Jo was an amazing lady who touched so many lives! She was a great Mom, Sister and Friend. She will be missed by so many! We will live by her saying, “Don’t cry-just laugh”!
