MRS. EMMA PFEIFFER DIED XMAS EVE
Mrs. Emma Pfeiffer died late Tuesday night at her home 19 east Court Street after an illness of influenza followed by pneumonia. The good woman has long been a resident of Iowa City and will be mourned by a great many friends who loved her for her many fine qualities and charming personality.

She was the widow of the late John Pfeiffer of this city and the mother of the late Mrs. Harry Blowers who died at West Liberty last week. Besides this daughter, Mrs. Pfeiffer leaves a son Roy who is a member of the 61st Engineers now in France, another daughter, Mrs. Guv Taylor of Brooklyn, Ia., nine grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Smith of Billings, Mont. And Mrs. Jennie Nicholas of Balden, New York and two brothers, Chas Merrifield of Golden Colorado and Samuel D. Merrifield. The deceased was sixty-two years old.

Funeral services will be held at two o’clock Friday afternoon at Hohenschuh’s Mortuary and will be conducted by Reverend Sherck of the English Lutheran Church. Interment will be made in Oakland cemetery.
