MOON FUNERAL HELD YESTERDAY AFTERNOON
The remains of Dr. Arnold R. Moon and his wife, Jennie Rhodes Moon were laid to rest early yesterday afternoon in Oakland cemetery. The taking away of these gifted young people was indeed a tragedy.

Dr. Moon was graduated from the university in 1910 from the medical school after having taken his degree in the college of liberal arts. Immediately after his graduation he was married to Miss Jennie Rhodes the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Rhodes of Estherville. The romance had had its inception at Lake Okoboji where Dr. Moon’s parents have long had a summer home.

The young couple left immediately for Europe where the young physician spent several years in study and clinical practice. The outbreak of the war furnished them many interesting experiences in their efforts to get back to the United States. Following their return Dr. Moon became associated with his father in conducting a sanitarium at Williamsburg.

Dr. Moon was the grandson of one of Iowa City’s very first physicians and marked the third generation to follow the profession. He is survived by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Moon of Williamsburg, his uncle, former councilman M. R. Moon and his aunt Miss Mary Moon, a gifted musician, both of Iowa City. His brother Barclay, is at present a student at S.U.I; his sister Harriet is a graduate of St. Katherine’s at Davenport.

Dr. Moon had enlisted in the service but had not yet been called.
