Mrs. Elma Grace Riggs, 81, of Iowa City, died at Mercy hospital Jan. 19 after a lingering illness.

Mrs. Riggs was born Dec. 19, 1880, in Scott township, the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Paulus Wentz. She was married in Scott township Feb. 6, 1906, to Obie N. Riggs, and they lived there 40 years before moving to Iowa City 13 years ago.

She was a member of the Iowa City Woman's club and the Wiley guild of the First Presbyterian church.

Survivors include the husband; 2 sisters, Mrs. Dewey Davis, West Branch and Mrs. Kate Switzer, Olin; a brother, John P. Wentz, West Branch; and 21 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and a brother.

Funeral services were Jan. 22 at Iowa City with the Rev. Russell Hunter, associate pastor at the Presbyterian church, officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
