Patricia Ann Crowley, 79, of Coralville, died on Friday, February 7 at her home in Coralville.

A gathering to celebrate Pat’s life will be from 12 – 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 15 at Lensing’s Oak Hill (210 Holiday Rd., Coralville). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed toward the Coralville Public Library or St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.

Pat was born on January 5, 1941 in Iowa City, daughter of George F. and Dorothy M. (Aldous) Dennis. She was a 1959 Iowa City High School graduate and became a registered nurse in 1963 through Mercy Hospital School of Nursing.

In 1995 she received a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Command and General Staff College Diploma in 1992. She was employed as an office nurse, school nurse, and held various positions at the VA Medical Center specializing in Orthopedics. For most of her military career she was a member of the 73rd Combat Support Hospital. LTC Crowley served honorably from June 10, 1975 to May 15,1996.

During her tenure at VAMC, Patricia was a member of the Hawkeye Chapter of the National Association of Orthopedic Nurses and served as its president for two years. She retired from the VAMC in 2002.

She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City.

In her free time, Pat enjoyed flowers and gardening, she was an avid reader, a movie lover, and spending time with her family.

Patricia is survived by her son, Scott Schalla of North Liberty, her grandchildren, Tyler and Sydney, and numerous extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Dorothy Dennis.
